Chassis Harnesses – The backbone of the electrical system is a core competancy of Kauffman Engineering.  We can mate to all OEM Chassis manufacturers and are not limited by harness length nor are we constrained by any circuit count restrictions.

Discrete Wire Harnesses – Kauffman is one of the few companies that can supply 100% of the harness needs of a Bus/Transit vehicle.  From single leads to parts with 600+ wires, we allow you to be confident that every circuit mates with each other from one manufacturer.

Power Distribution Panels – We can provide a solution to centralize all of your electrical circuits, fuses and relays in one location.  Colored and keyed plug-in connectors combined with UL listed color coded wire allows for effortless and error-free hook-ups.

Power Conductors – Also referred to as Battery Cables, Kauffman Engineering can supply a range from 6 AWG to 2/0 AWG products to fit your need.  Cables can be combined with our internally designed, tooled and fabricated terminals to facilitate lead time and provide a cost savings opportunity. 

Communication Cables – Our protfolio of products includes Coax, HDMI, CAT, flat, round... upgrading or adding new communication or data network wiring using standardized Registered Jacks or twisted pairs is simple. 

Kauffman Engineering's Supply Chain Management and Manufacturing Systems allow us to maintain industry leading lead times while offering cost effective solutions. 

Components – making harnesses for over 35 years, we have established a reliable supply chain of component parts, including joint inventory management programs. We use all recognized industry standard connectors, such as; Tyco/AMP®, Delphi®, Molex®, Deutsch®… and we are capable to custom designing/molding terminals and connectors as well.

Wires – All Kauffman Engineering, Inc. wires are UL® approved. We offer the industry's most commonly used sizes; 0 AWG to 22AWG wires, and also have the capability of wire extrusion. Our extensive set of solid wire color variety includes striped color combinations. We provide standard UL® style MTW and CSA approved TEW and AWM rated wire insulation, as well as higher temperature UL® style GXL (X-link) insulation as part of our flexibility.

Wire processing – CLS/Komax® automated cutting, terminating and printing technology allowing us to lead the industry in; efficiency, quality and consistency in specification such as lengths and crimp integrity.

Splicing – Our use of Sonic Welding Technology assures long term, secure and durable connection for every splice

Assembly options – We offer wide range of tubing capabilities, such as; standard and high-temperature loom protections, as well as wire braiding capabilities. Optional additions of protection circuits such as; Fuses, diodes, resistors or relays can be added upon request.

Testing – Assembled harnesses are tested using original mate connectors whenever possible. Every pin/terminal is tested using the most up-to-date software scanning technology, regardless if the end of the wire has a connector, pin or ring terminal or is just a blunt wire.
